Dishwasher-safe Pyrex is used in the kitchen. How about Vintage Pyrex?
Because vintage Pyrex is such a beautiful product, and in order to keep it in the best possible condition, we do not recommend that you put it in the dishwasher.
As wonderful possessions that look fantastic, it is preferable to wash them by hand in order to preserve any print or color that may have been printed on them.
However, although vintage Pyrex can theoretically be washed in the dishwasher, the importance of preserving the color and print should be the first consideration, and you may want to hand wash them whenever possible to ensure the best possible results.
How Is Safe putting Pyrex bowls in the dishwasher?
Porcelain or ceramic Pyrex bowls can be washed in the dishwasher, and they should be placed in the bottom tray of the dishwasher.

Similar to Pyrex dishes with glass or ceramic lids, Pyrex dishes with glass or ceramic lids can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
The most important factor in achieving success is to make certain that the dish itself is not cracked, chipped, or otherwise damaged during preparation.
In order to preserve the print and maintain the vibrant color of vintage Pyrex, it may be necessary to hand wash it.
It is important to remember that Pyrex is fragile and should be handled with care, whether it is clear, colored, decorated, or plain.
More information can be found in the Pyrex cleaning instructions.
What is the best way to clean Pyrex by hand?
First and foremost, never use a scrubbing sponge on a glass surface, even if the sponge is labeled “safe for glass” or “non-scratch,” as it will scratch the surface. Cleaning pads made of wire wool are included in this category.
Use blunt implements to scrape off caked-on or burned food from the surface of foods to avoid contaminating the food further.
Glass is easily scratched and dented due to its fragility.
So, which method should you employ?
Make a start with warm or hot water and a soft sponge or cotton towel to complete the task at hand. Ensure that you are using a clear detergent that is, if possible, free of perfume.
Several clear dishwashing detergents are readily available, and they are designed specifically for use in the dishwashing machine.
It is not necessary to use a laundry detergent that is green or orange in color.
You should avoid allowing dyes to come into contact with your Pyrex if you see colors such as green or orange.
A perfume-like scent is not required, nor is it preferable for this purpose (which is simply another chemical of unknown type).
Examine all of the surfaces after they have been cleaned, rinsed, and inspected.
Fill a sink or a plastic tub halfway with hot soapy water and soak it for an hour or overnight if it is not clean enough.
The cleaning procedure should be repeated a second time.
If this method works for you, rinse thoroughly and gently towel dry before continuing with the process.
Cleaning stubborn stains off of Pyrex is actually quite simple, quick, and inexpensive; however, it does necessitate some careful preparation and adherence to some very important safety precautions before it can be completed successfully.
Lye
To clean effectively, you must use a cleaning agent that is well-known in the industry. “Lye” is the term used to describe it.
Look it up on the internet to learn more about it; it is still manufactured under the names “Red Devil Lye” and “Duda’s Red Hot Devil Lye,” and it is still available for purchase.
It is recommended that you avoid using oven cleaners or other products that simply contain lye in their formulation.
Lye is sodium hydroxide, and it is a very powerful alkali that can dissolve almost anything (or base).
When present in high concentrations, it is potentially hazardous and can cause severe burns to the skin.
When used in dilute (lower) concentrations for an extended period of time, it can also cause irritation and burns.
Process
Rubber gloves, some plastic goggles, a plastic tub, possibly some cotton balls (or a roll of cotton), some simple plastic brushes (a very soft toothbrush is ideal), and possibly a plastic apron to protect your clothing will be required for this project.
Using natural hair brushes of any kind is not recommended because the lye will cause them to disintegrate.
Nylon paintbrushes are acceptable for use in this application.
Before you begin mixing, make sure you have everything ready by putting on your gloves, goggles, and apron.
Ideally, you’ll want to use a lye solution that has been dissolved in water and has been concentrated by approximately 10%.
Approximately two teaspoons of lye in a small juice glass (equivalent to about six ounces) of water are the recommended dosage.
Before you begin, you should determine what concentration of liquid lye you have purchased and dilute it (using your favorite Pyrex glass measuring cup, of course!).
With a 50 percent concentration of the solution, it is possible to dilute one ounce of the solution with four or five ounces of water.
This situation does not necessitate the use of extreme precision. However, proceed with caution once more.
It is always preferable to add the chemical to the water rather than the chemical to the water when treating a problem with water.
Whatever form the lye takes (liquid, crystallized, or in the form of pellets), this is the case: Place all of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and stir until everything is fully combined.
It is important to take your time and avoid standing over it and breathing in the fumes.
The solution will become hotter as time progresses, as you will notice.
That is simply the result of a chemical reaction caused by the lye reacting with the water, which is explained above. You are not required to use it right away, and any leftovers can be saved for another time.
Toss your soiled Pyrex dish into the bathtub to clean it.
Dip your brush into the dilute lye solution and use it to apply it to the stains on the Pyrex glassware surface, working quickly and efficiently.
Dripping brownish stains indicate that light stains are nearly impossible to dissolve.
A beautiful tableware material, Pyrex is a favorite in many homes. Does the item the ability to be placed in the dishwasher? Absolutely.
However, depending on how much time and effort you want to put in, you can also clean them with your hands.
Keep in mind to follow all safety precautions when cleaning your Pyrex and to exercise caution whenever you come into contact with it.
